Keeping the site working

A very small number remember whether you have dismissed a banner and hold display preferences between pages. No personal information travels in them and the site behaves oddly without them.

Counting readers

Aggregate measurement of which ledger entries are opened, how long they hold attention and roughly where the reader arrived from. It exists so we audit the brands people are actually considering rather than the ones we find interesting. No reader is identified.

Attributing registrations

When you follow a commercial link, the operator sets its own cookie so any account you open is credited correctly. That cookie is theirs, governed by their policy, and it grants us no view of your account, your balance or your play.

Refusing all of it

Every browser can block or clear cookies from its own settings, and nothing on this site requires you to accept anything. Blocking measurement costs you nothing at all. Blocking attribution costs us a commission and costs you nothing, and we would rather say so than hide it.

If this changes

Should anything beyond these three categories ever run here, this page is rewritten before it goes live rather than afterwards.
